Leofoo Hotel

Purchased a Taipei Pass for 3 days, which allows unlimited access on metro and bus services. Up to now, I’m still unsure as whether all buses are allowed? Because it beeps like their regular EasyCard 悠遊卡 but it technically doesn’t have any stored value, no??

翠玉白菜 (jadeite cabbage with scallop sauce) NTD 220
肉形石 (stewed pork hock in meat stone shape) NTD 380
寶鼎鴛鴦牛肉麵 (double flavored yin yang beef noodle soup) NTD 520
Sounds like a lot eh, but don’t worry, they’re literally one piece of lettuce and one cube of meat, but they tasted pretty good. The beef noodle soup was good, although it seems hard to go wrong with this. The desserts were all very delicate and detailed, and I almost didn’t want to eat them, but after a couple, it was already too much flour-y sweetness.

One of the largest permanent collection of ancient Chinese artifacts and artworks. With 700,000 artifacts of significant historical or artistic values, the museum house Chinese calligraphy, porcelain, bronzes, paintings, jades and many other artifacts, with 22% (2,972 out of 13,491 crates) of the boxes originally transported south from the Forbidden City.
The “Jadeite Cabbage” is only of the most popular pieces of jade carvings in the museum, made of a piece of jadeite carved into the shape of a cabbage head, and the ruffled semi-translucent leaves attached due to the masterful combination of various color of the jade to recreate the color variations of a real cabbage. Unfortunately, it wasn’t at the Museum this time. The “Meat-shaped Stone” made of jasper with dyed and textured surface to make the layers of skin, lean meat, and fat with incredible likeness to a piece of pork cooked in soy sauce, is often exhibited together, was here.

Web: http://www.amo.com.tw
Amo bakery is a sprucely decorated store, but with very polite and knowledgeable staff. “Taiwanese Honey Layer cake” is one of their signature cakes, and when served thinly sliced (as recommended) tasted great, not too sweet. I was also tempted on their “French Country Lemon cake” but wasn’t sure I could finish all those cakes within their best before date, hehe. The “Taiwanese Honey Layer cake” has the longest best before date, with 48 hours at room temperature or 6 days in the fridge, so time your purchases accordingly~

Fu Jia Yi Fang NT986
富 是豐富的食材與多樣性的烹調方式的意思;
呷 是台灣話「吃」的意思,代表創意來自台灣;
一 是一個的意思;佛經中「一」亦代表無量無邊的意思;
Fu Jia Yi Fang, provides a new take on hotpot. Using its signature squared hotpot/pan, different foods can be made using minimal condiments for healthier options whilst maintaining the flavor and texture. A nice fusion health-oriented restaurant, worth a visit, maybe two if I wasn’t a greedy hungry lil tourist hoping to try everything and see everywhere. The lamb tasted good (if you like that kinda taste) especially with the little spicy pickled fruit (whatsit??) and the finale of oyster rice in soup was great, since it’s made from the broth of all the meats and veggies before it. But it’s not a unique flavor. There is a minimum charge of NT$288.
